Today the Varmints! podcast goes into the bouncy, teeny squee-makers, chipmunks! Chipmunks are itty bitty rodents with huge charisma and everyone loves them, so, let’s check them out!

But first, the news!

Listening to podcasts at chipmunk speed? Podcast creators are divided on the issue.


“Hmm this sounds like a bunch of chipmunks”.

“In the summers of 2013 and 2014, National Geographic grantee Charline Couchoux and a team of scientists fitted chipmunks with tiny microphones in southern Quebec, Canada. After attaching mics to the chipmunks’ necks, they left the area for a full 24 hours to make sure their presence did not influence the results.
